Roles: Wireframing, Prototyping, Visual Design, and Branding
Tools: Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator
Project Goals
• easy-to-understand interface for the customers and the business owner;
• make it easy for the business owner to update the content regularly;
• give the business owner access to a management area with an intuitive UI;
The problem:
Many booking applications charge a 15% - 20% commission, and small businesses must compete with giant corporations. They don't provide a management system for long-term rental flats (more than six months). An automatic billing procedure is not possible.
Wireframing/Explorations
We defined the web app's flow roughly with some paper sketches to serve as a jumping-off point for exploring different ideas within my team.
Our database was created from the standpoint of the business owner. We have worked from two perspectives: business owner and tourist customer.
Business owner: Has a limited time to design and publish apartments or master a complex management system.
Core functions:
• find a method for duplicating similar apartments;
• publish/unpublish apartments;
• send and track bills in an automatic process;
• integrate automatic messages (email templates);
• receive alerts and notifications;
• rental processes must be regulated by the laws of rental from Romania.
Tourist customer: Would normally wish to reserve a vacation, either short or long-term in an easy-to-use app.
Core functions:
• intuitive web app with the same features for the user as other applications in this industry;
• ensure a straightforward procedure with few screens between the search and payment;
Brand
The visual design needed to convey a sense of luxury.
On the first page, there were real images of apartments, which seemed like a great approach to show the tourist customer what he can rent.
We created this product from the beginning, so implementing a cohesive design system was only a step ahead.
